KuKirin Delivery Day Checklist: Unboxing, Setup and First Safe Ride

Your KuKirin has arrived. A careful first hour protects the scooter, gives you a clear record of its condition and makes the first ride safer. Use this checklist together with the manual supplied for your exact model; where the manual differs, the model-specific instructions take priority.

1. Inspect the carton before opening it

Photograph every side of the carton, the shipping label and any visible tear, crush mark or wet area. If the package is seriously damaged, record it before moving the scooter. These images make it much easier for our support team to assess a transport claim.

2. Confirm the model and keep the packaging

Check the model name on the carton and scooter against your order confirmation. Keep the carton, protective inserts and supplied documents until you have completed the inspection and first tests. Record the serial number and store it with your invoice.

3. Unpack safely

Performance scooters can be heavy. Use a second person if the weight or shape is awkward, lift from stable frame areas and do not pull the scooter out by cables, brake hoses, display or folding mechanism. Place it on a level surface away from children and traffic.

4. Check the supplied items

Compare the contents with the exact model manual or packing list. Typical items can include the charger, tools, fasteners and accessories, but the contents differ by model and production version. Do not assume an accessory is missing because it appeared in a video for another version.

5. Assemble only as the manual shows

Install the handlebar, controls or accessories in the specified orientation. Route cables without sharp bends or pinching, use the supplied fasteners in the correct positions and follow any stated tightening sequence or torque. Do not improvise electrical connections or modify the battery, controller, brakes or speed-limiting system.

6. Perform a stationary inspection

• Confirm that the folding latch and safety lock are fully engaged.
• Check that the stem, handlebar, wheels and fitted accessories have no unexpected movement.
• Inspect tyres for cuts, deformation and correct seating; use the pressure stated in the manual or on the tyre.
• Squeeze both brake controls and confirm that they operate smoothly.
• Inspect visible cables, connectors, lights, reflectors, charging port and battery enclosure.

Do not ride if a safety-critical part is loose, damaged, leaking, unusually hot or behaving unpredictably.

7. Charge in a safe place

Use only the charger specified for the scooter. Charge indoors in a dry, ventilated area, on a stable non-flammable surface and away from direct heat. Connect in the order stated by the manual, do not cover the charger and do not charge a wet, damaged, swollen or unusually hot battery.

8. Set up the controls before moving

Learn the display, riding modes, lights, indicators, horn and brake cut-off while stationary. Never change advanced settings without understanding their effect. Maximum performance modes may not be permitted on public roads in your location.

9. Make the first test controlled

Wear appropriate protective equipment and choose a flat, dry, traffic-free area where riding is permitted. Start in the lowest suitable mode. Test steering, throttle response and each brake progressively at walking speed before increasing speed. Listen for rubbing, clicking or grinding and stop if the scooter pulls, vibrates or reports an error.

10. Recheck after the first short ride

Let the scooter cool, then inspect the folding mechanism, fasteners, tyres and brakes again. If anything is unclear, do not keep testing it at higher speed.
